Ingredients
4 lbs beef short ribs
1 onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup beef broth
1 cup red wine
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
2 sprigs fresh thyme
2 bay leaves
Instructions
Prepare the ingredients: In your slow cooker, combine the beef short ribs, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Ensure the ribs are well distributed for even cooking.
Mix the sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together the beef broth, red wine, soy sauce, brown sugar, salt, pepper, paprika, thyme, and bay leaves.
Combine and cook: Pour the sauce mixture over the ribs in the slow cooker, making sure to cover all the ribs.
Slow cook: Cover and cook on low for 480-600 minutes or on high for 240-360 minutes. The ribs should be tender and easily pull apart with a fork.
Finish and serve: Once cooked, carefully remove the ribs from the slow cooker. Serve the ribs with the sauce drizzled over the top.
Notes
Searing the ribs first can enhance flavor. Adjust seasoning to taste before serving.
