Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, these Asian Glazed Meatballs are perfect for weeknight meals or as appetizers with a sweet and tangy glaze.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground turkey
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 cup plain dry bread crumbs
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 2/3 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/3 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sriracha sauce (optional, for heat)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the ground turkey, sesame oil, bread crumbs, ground ginger, beaten eggs, and minced garlic in a large bowl.
  3. Shape the mixture into 1 1/2-inch balls and transfer them to the lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-23 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Meanwhile, combine the hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, honey, minced garlic, sesame oil, ground ginger, soy sauce, and sriracha in a skillet over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. Transfer the cooked meatballs to the skillet with the glaze and toss until fully coated. Serve over rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

Don’t overmix the meatball ingredients to keep them tender. Use fresh garlic and ginger for best flavor.
